This course extends students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English for everyday and academic purposes. Students will participate in conversations in structured situations on a variety of familiar and new topics; read a variety of texts designed or adapted for English language learners; expand their knowledge of English grammatical structures and sentence patterns; and link English sentences to compose paragraphs. The course also supports students’ continuing adaptation to the Ontario school system by expanding their knowledge of diversity in their new province and country.

COURSE DETAILS
Unit 1 : Parts of a basic speech/ Beginning communication
We will learn and practice our core skills while learning about basic communication skills.
Unit 2 : Verbs / Everyday Communication
We will learn and practice our core skills while learning about every day speech.
Unit 3 : Pronouns and Possessives
We will read Short Stories and other written works to study grammar structures
Unit 4 : Question, Sentence writing, and Canadian Written Works
We will learn different question forms of speech, and use grammars to write simple sentences.
